ISTA 1D is a general simulation performance test that covers the testing of individually packaged products weighing 150 pounds (68 kg) or more when prepared for shipment.

ISTA Series 1 is generally the least strenuous of the ISTA tests. However, when applied correctly, ISTA 1D will provide benefits such as:

  • Vibration Test Block-Fixed Displacement.

ISTA Testing Report

Upon completion of testing, a report is created encompassing the necessary data:

  • Test engineer
  • Date of testing
  • Package failures (if any)
  • Test Results
  • Conditioning

The test report should be submitted to ISTA. If the product and package have met the ISTA requirements, the company will print the ISTA mark on its packaging along with a license number.

This signifies that the package has passed the requirements of the ISTA pre-shipment testing. This package certification is recognized globally. To maintain this certified status, the product must be retested if there are changes to the product, process or package.
